Life is not fair.
I remembered reading a book entitled "Life is not fair". That was eons ago and frankly speaking, I can only vaguely remember that it was about a Afr0-American boy who experienced some racism in his school and how he overcame it. The only other thing I can remember about it is a reply to the boy's lament that life is not fair. The reply was "Nobody says that it is".
It is not fair! I frequently hear. The world should be fair! Somebody shouted. There should be equality between men and women! A pig shouted. I have a dream...! Martin Luther King Jr. announced. There shouldn't be cruelty to animals! Animals should be treated fairly. The butchers say. All animals are equal! A book says. Our background should not be used to judge what we can achieve!
For your information, readers, LIFE IS NOT FAIR. "You must be the change you wish to see in the world", said Ghandi. Stop lamenting about its unfairness. Do something about it. Life is not fair because you make it so. You are life. Each and everyone of us is a life. While we cannot be totally fair, we must always try to be as impartial as possible. Why? Because we are alive. We cannot just keep quiet and hope that nothing happens while unfairness looms around us. We cannot remain silent. Silence supports the oppressor, never the oppressed. Because we are life, we can make or break it too.
All animals are equal but some are more equal than others. Don't you believe the pigs!
